Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera) Large tree which grows to a height of 80 feet and a diameter of 2 feet. The bark on branches and young trees is brown to bronze. On trunks of mature trees, the bark is white. The use of Paper Birch by Indians in making canoes is legendary.
