Description
(Juniperus virginiana) Being a juniper and not a true cedar, leaves are narrow, 1/16″ to 1″ long, dark green, scale-like and compressed to form a four sided branchlet. By autumn, dark blue, fleshy, highly aromatic, berry-like cones develop, which are food for birds and small mammals. grows well in a variety of soils in full sun. Tolerates wet soils. Good for dense windbreaks, noted for its use in wood furniture.
